What an incredible day we had last week celebrating local hero Mr Thomas (Tommy) Doherty as he received the Freedom of the City of Lisburn & Castlereagh.
Tommy was recognised for a lifetime of service – from his contribution to the armed forces in the 1940’s, to his continued dedication to his community and charitable causes.
Special thanks to all of Tommy's family and friends who helped to make this such a special day.
Yesterday we conferred the Freedom of the City of Lisburn & Castlereagh on Mr Thomas (Tommy) Doherty.
as one of the oldest veterans in our council area at the age of 99, his service in the Royal Air Force reflects a deep sense of duty and commitment that remained with him throughout his life.
