From this Sunday's @longbeachopera public workshop of the opera The Passion of Nell, for which I wrote the libretto and Shelley Washington @shelleyplaysaxy the breathtaking score, here I am introducing my approach to the true story of the Swedish Soprano Birgit Nilsson and her stalker, the American model Nell Theobold. In the video with me is our brilliant artist director James Darrah @darrah_fawcett and in the end pic, (which ended up attached to the reel) is the 4 of us, the genuis musical director Chris Rountree @orionrountree the staggeringly gifted composer Shelley Washington and me. It's the dream team.
Last Saturday's @vaginaldavis_official Universitet for the Damaged and the Gifted brought out us L.A. family to celebrate her genius show Magnificent Product across 5 museum and gallery spaces in Stockholm, all made possible by the brilliant and incredible @hendrik_folkerts . I did the opening synod for the Universitet at @tenstakonsthall and then a conversation with beloved Ms. Davis. @ronathey_4 performed the spectacular Willendorf as well as a conversation with the Doll.
