A designer and collector with a distinctly modernist eye, Perry has shaped a world where art, design, and living are in constant dialogue. I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a week in Mexico on an art focused trip with the goal of doing an exhibition of Mexican craft at @onnahouse
I wasn’t sure what to expect and on every level my expectations were surpassed.
The textiles, ceramics, furniture, clothing, jewelry gorgeous. The food was delicious and the people warm and welcoming. The hardest part will be editing everything I found and having to say no to an artist. I wish I could bring it all!

It’s hard to capture a year in 20 pictures but rather it’s just a snapshot to help recall precious moments…
To a year which had lots of sadness including saying goodbye to my mom and other dear friends but many milestone moments including our 40th wedding anniversary and opening a new gallery.
All to say I will try to spend as much time with family and friends as I can… I will spend more time doing things I love … I will travel and see new things when I can…because we all know too well life is short. I will cherish the sunrises and sunsets and the small things.
For now I’ll be in the kitchen having my favorite scone and Sammy I’ll save you a bite and Day I’ll see you soon.

Threads of identity, memory, and ritual come together this summer at @onnahouse in East Hampton.
The exhibition My Life Has Been a Tapestry presents the work of twelve women artists using textile as both medium and message, redefining the boundaries between art, craft, and storytelling.
On view through September 1, the show is a reflection of Lisa Perry’s continued commitment to centering women’s voices through thoughtful curation and design.

“My Life Has Been a Tapestry”
a tribute to textile and fiber arts
This anthem for the ages written by Carole King is one of my favorite songs. It’s also worth noting that Carole King explained in an early interview that she had started a needlepoint tapestry a few months before she did the album and she happened to write a song called “Tapestry” not even connecting the two in her mind.
I love that Carole King was making a tapestry while writing Tapestry!
