These photos stand as symbols for two struggles in my life.
Finding balance between body and mind and living with the daily challenges. It’s not just the physical pain, but also the mental and emotional toll it takes.
The spirit and body must be in balance. When your mind is at peace, your body can follow, but stress and negative thoughts make everything harder.
-Living with Crohn’s disease has shown me how deeply these two are connected.
-The scar on my left shoulder is a reminder of the battles I’ve fought, both physically and emotionally and how important it is to stay strong and keep moving forward.
When you’re feeling stressed, your body feels it too. Stress doesn’t just come from your thoughts, but from the way your body reacts to those thoughts. My stomach is often the first to let me know something is wrong, it hurts, tightens up and won’t let me forget that my emotions have a direct impact on my physical health. Sometimes it feels like the tension settles as a heavy weight on my shoulders, literally and figuratively.
I’ve learned that recovery isn’t just about fighting pain. It’s about listening to your body, finding peace and trusting that healing is possible. Even in the most difficult times.
Healing isn’t always straight forward, but when you feel good inside, you begin to glow from the outside.
It’s not about being free from pain, but finding strength in the struggle.
