Last night, we were thrilled to host the fabulous @talkingderrygirlspodcast with Marie-Louise Kerr in conversation with Mary Pat Kelly. This event brought a behind-the-scenes look into the production of @lisafromderry Lisa McGee's global hit show Derry Girls, life growing up in Derry, and the way stories of Ireland bring us together. AIHS Board Secretary Susan C. Dempsey provided an introduction for the speakers, welcoming them into our home at 991. This event was catered by Maura Clare of @smugglingnun and featured Taytos, from both the North and South of Ireland!

The dark comedy thriller ‘How to Get to Heaven from Belfast’ has arrived on Netflix 🍿 Created by @lisafromderry (Derry Girls), the soundtrack perfectly captures the show’s high-energy nostalgia. From the 90s pop classic of ‘Spice Up Your Life’ (@biffco ) to the hazy, Celtic-infused trance of Chicane’s ‘Saltwater’ (Ray Hedges), these tracks ground the stories shift from the characters’ shared history to their chaotic present. 🎥 ☘️ Tracks linked in bio. #HowToGetToHeavenFromBelfast #Netflix #LisaMcGee #DerryGirls

“We understand very intimately grief and pain. This is not singular to us as Irish people, but I think we understand grief and pain as a thing that can be told through hope and lightness. “I think that a specific thing to here is that when we tell these difficult stories – we tell them with hope and with kindness.” Local stars including Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Seamus O’Hara, Danielle Galligan and Lisa McGee speak to Sophie Clarke about why they think Irish storytelling resonates around the world. 🎥 Dylan Hegarty
