One of the things I love about summer is the variety of fruit we get to enjoy. Sadly stone fruit season will be coming to an end soon, though there is so much variety in the grocers still. My picks at the moment are the beautiful peaches and nectarines still about. I love a poached peach, an apricot tart, or a nectarine salad over summer. And a little donut nectarine or peach is the perfect eating size. Buy them while they are perfectly unblemished and leave them out of the fridge to ripen until they are at that stand-over-the-sink-to-eat juicy ripeness.

Here is a simple recipe inspired from this week’s garden pickings: baked NZ king salmon with nasturtiums, caper butter and skordalia. I’ll be including this in my Eatable edm this coming week along with my perfect go-to pavlova recipe. You can sign up to receive it by clicking the link in the bio. This dish is inspired from a recipe by @alicelouisewaters for salmon baked in fig leaves. I love nasturtiums, they are so easy to grow and their peppery flavour is wonderful with both fish and meat. This simple way to bake a piece of salmon too makes this a very easy recipe for a weeknight, or for the Christmas table. You’ll need to find nasturtiums in a local garden or a nursery. Keep an eye out for them, but if you can’t find them you could use rocket leaves and use marigold petals to add a little splash of floral beauty. Side note: my first apple cucumber for summer picked from the garden - I think old fashioned white or apple cucumber is so delicious and it’s such a shame that we don’t see it anymore in shops. It can be a bit bitter if too old but peel the skin and salt it and dress it with olive oil and your favourite vinegar. #SalmonRecipe #NZKingSalmon #ChristmasRecipes #KitchenGarden #EatableMagazine #TheFoodConcierge #Foodphotography #Foodstyling Tablecloth credit @_houseoflacuna

This little corner restaurant in Darlinghurst has had its share of greats, from the 1980s Italian trattoria, Tre Scalini to much loved Bar Vincent and now Vin-Cenzos. The Italian theme continues, but the evolution just gets better and better. I love this little local restaurant and it encompasses all that is good with hospitality - great friendly service, delicious honest food, ambience & good vibes @vincenzos_sydney . (Pictured tagliatelle con ragu, asparagus and mayonnaise, tuna crudo, and a very good Caesar salad.) #SydneyRestaurants

Back in the saddle. It’s been a long time since I rode but I’m so happy to be back riding. I love their power and just how magnificent horses are. They are flight animals and can be unpredictable which means you need to remain calm even when they are frightened, or defiant - you must be the leader otherwise they’ll take the lead and that can be a problem. And so it takes a lot of being completely present with them to be able to take the reins, so to speak. Which I get so much from. Anyway. You’ll find photos of the odd horse here as they are one of my true passions. Just thought I’d share as I also think they take an excellent photo, too. More delicious food content soon…

Eighteen and dining out. Big girl energy. A delicious chocolate birthday cake. Retrospectively, it is so lovely to be back to Bathers’ Pavilion for another birthday - a few visits in between, of course - @batherspavilion , you are all-class. Absolutely stunning food from @aaronward88 . This is one of the best meals I have had this year. Your sauce skills are to die for. Snack game strong. That layered chocolate, tonka bean, passionfruit dessert had ‘happy birthday to me’ written all over it. 🧡
