My band @theholytempleatx is playing our final live show on Jerry Garcia's birthday, August 1st. So this is the last time we will be playing a show. (Unless something major happens)
If you live in Austin come see us!
I designed this poster and printed it on thermal printed 4x6 labels and stretched it out on the scanner.
In order to save money on film stock, I devised a method to respool film from a 400' core I bought from an interesting man in Dallas who accused me of stealing his lightmeter that he ended up finding 5 minutes after a very accusatory call.
I could not expose any of this unexposed film, so I did this in total darkness in my bathroom. Fujifilm stopped making motion picture film in 2013 and this film was probably 30 years old.
When i got the core out i realized i didnt want the loose film rotating on the wood, so i grabbed the closest plastic i could find and gaffed it down.
its not pretty or sightly but i neatly rolled 400' down into 4 100' daylight spools. Walked around North Loop filming signs and buildings and stuff on a 70 foot test roll of film i spooled up. Sending it out tomorrow. Hope it comes back alright!
usually people spend 120$ on some craig rewinders on ebay but i refused to do that, worked fine on two wooden dowels and a pegboard. took me about 45 minutes of meditation.
light projection during @bernardo_mountainair solo set
i used a fisheye lens duct taped to a projector that once belonged to the butler school of music at ut. ran some video synth off my ipad. first time ever doing concert visuals hopefully of many more shows to come.
was losing my mind a bit toward the end of the night but bolm fest was a lot of fun to be a part of. im insane to do all the stuff i do.
