Its a long existing myth that only women do pole or someone of a certain weight criteria or belonging to a particular age or only those from the entertainment industry can do pole.
But art doesnt discriminate nor does a sport differentiate. Pole is done both as a form of sport and as a form of art. Its us who look at it in a certain manner but it is something that everybody can do. Whether you want to learn it or not is a personal choice but can you learn it or not ? The answer will always be YES.
No matter where you come from fitness is for all ❤️ I have been lucky to have people from all walks of life come to Anokha and give pole so much love. We are growing as a community and growth no matter how difficult is always beautiful ✨
MJ fever is high and I had to bring that energy to the pole ✨
With Michael releasing this week I have been listening to all his tracks on repeat! Dangerous has always been an all time favourite and I had to make my version of the moonwalk.
Also I hardly put static pole moves so here is a little something away from my usual 🙇♀️

Samtola training is honestly one of the most underrated forms of full-body strength work.
Yes, it builds strong shoulders, grip and wrists but it doesn’t stop there. The moment you start swinging, your core has to stay tight to control the movement, and your legs stay active to stabilise and generate power. It quietly works on coordination, balance and endurance at the same time.
We include Samtola training on Wednesdays because it trains your body the way it’s meant to move not isolated, but connected.
If you’re looking to build strength, improve mobility, and move better overall, this is something you should be adding in.

A lot of you wonder why we got into traditional equipments rather than what widely popular.
Well long before barbells, machines, and modern gyms existed, Indian wrestlers were already training with Mudgars.
Mudgars were used in traditional Akhadas by Pehlwans for centuries as part of their daily strength and conditioning practice. Historical accounts from the 18th and 19th centuries describe wrestlers performing hundreds, sometimes even thousands, of swings in a single training session.
What makes this tool so effective?
The shape and structure of a mudgar are very different from a dumbbell. Most of the weight sits in the thicker end of the club rather than directly in your grip. Because of this, the body has to work harder to control the movement as the club swings through space.
Mudgar training also uses circular and flowing movements instead of the straight up-and-down patterns we see in many gym exercises. These movements require the shoulders, arms, and upper back to stay active while controlling the momentum of the club.
But mudgar training is not just about the upper body.
When you swing a mudgar while standing, your entire body has to stay engaged to stabilise the movement. The legs help maintain a strong base, the core keeps the torso stable, and the upper body guides and controls the club.
Because of this, mudgar training contributes to overall conditioning, including:
* stronger shoulders and upper back
* improved grip strength
* better coordination and body control
* greater joint mobility, especially in the shoulders
* muscular endurance and stamina
This is one of the reasons mudgars remained a core part of traditional wrestler training for so long.
Long before the modern fitness industry existed, athletes were already using tools like this to build strength, endurance, and resilience across the entire body.
