Durch die Blume (2025) ist eine fotografische Untersuchung von Nähe, Fürsorge und generationsübergreifender Zuneigung.
Die Arbeit folgt zwei fotografischen Erzählsträngen: Einerseits dokumentiere ich alltägliche Gesten, durch die mir meine Großeltern ihre Zuneigung zeigen - in Handlungen des Weitergebens, in Routinen und stiller Fürsorge. Andererseits richtet sich der Blick auf meine eigene Wahrnehmung ihrer Präsenz: eine fotografische Annäherung daran, wie ich meine Großeltern sehe und wertschätze.
Ergänzt wird die Arbeit durch mikroskopische Aufnahmen von Blumen aus dem Garten meiner Großeltern. Die Vergrößerung kleinster Strukturen dient dabei als visuelle Übersetzung von Nähe und Aufmerksamkeit - als Versuch, Zuneigung über das Sichtbare hinaus erfahrbar zu machen.

a few of my favorite pictures i took this year 💖
I’m especially proud of my master’s thesis, which I completed in 2025. It’s titled “Durch die Blume” and is a photographic series about my grandparents and myself. I haven’t published it yet, as it feels too personal to me, and an Instagram post doesn’t seem like the right place for it. Hopefully, I’ll find a more fitting way to share it with you in 2026.
One important learning for me this year was to understand photography both as my form of artistic expression and as my profession. These two aspects are not the same, yet they are deeply intertwined. As an artist, it can sometimes be difficult to accept that art and being paid for it can feel confusing or even contradictory. I’m learning to hold space for both, and I will continue to practice my art while also growing as a commercial photographer.
