With a few babies getting close to becoming something new, I thought we should talk about the term "Ethically sourced" and what it means/doesnt mean. To me, it means my bones were once bodies found along highways and returned to the earth in a quieter place. It means I can tell you what they are, how they looked, what injuries I suspect and with confidence, how they died. I can tell you how long they took, show you any injuries and have been involved in every step of the process. Me and my gloved hands were there for it all. I probably gave them a name, I always grounded myself before any interaction, and spiritually, I kept all parts of processing with a deep reverence for the life that is no longer. Links and bones started because I held my still born son and felt no fear of a dead body. From there, an inability to leave anyone on the highway for eternity was born. My body became a tomb, my backyard a grave yard. My work with bones is how I love my son through death. It is grief. Not all oddities shops act from this space, and not all oddities collectors care. If Ethically sourced means something to you, make sure it means the same thing to who you buy from. 🔗🖤🦴
