A moment I hope to never forget … going out to welcome my first patient 🥹
Last week marked our first day in clinic and my-oh-my. What an absolute whirlwind of excitement and jitters (to be completely honest, it was mostly jitters) 😅
Nothing quite prepares you for this milestone. You realize you're no longer dealing with theoretical cases or classroom simulations; you're now involved in caring for an individual’s health, comfort, and well-being. The knowledge you've gained and the skills you’ve practiced will now have to be applied and adapted to a patient’s unique needs. Your decisions matter. It’s a thrilling and extremely humbling realization.
Confidence is at a low and nervousness is at an all time high but here’s to embracing challenges, soaking it all in, and celebrating everyday wins (no matter how small) 😌

The Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo hike was a tough one, but I’m so glad we decided to do it 🙌
Some noteworthy stats ✍️
• Wake up time: 4:45 am
• Hike start time: 6:50 am 🌅
• Distance covered: ~12 km
• Elevation gain: ~ 1800 m 🥵
• Amount of fun had: immeasurable
• Level of achievement felt: comparable to getting an NCT reading on a young child ⭐️
