Well, it's 3:30 in the morning on Christmas Day and I'm too wired to fall asleep now. Having trouble sleeping on Christmas is nothing now, but the impetus for the insomnia has changed significantly now as a parent. It's now more delirium from helping Santa wrap gifts, assemble some parts, and make sure Christmas morning is magical.
And it already has. The spirit of Christmas is alive in this house, simply through the act of gratitude for everyone who has helped our little family succeed thus far. It really does take a village and we are lucky enough to be a part of a really good one. Life has crazy twists and turns, and we've had a few this year but seem to have ended the year upright and full of gratitude.
So thanks to those who have made it special, especially to the two kids you see here. They really are magical and it's a miracle they chose us as parents. Learning so much about life thanks to seeing it through their eyes.
So, a very Merry Christmas to you, wherever you may be, and hoping that you have some reasons to spread joy this season, and here's hoping that Peace on Earth becomes more than a dream. Much love, good night to all, and to all a good night!
And just like that, I popped, and we magically became a family of 4 (+ 🐩). Been soaking up the newborn bubble 🫧 bliss with our gorgeous little Sunny ☀️ Bruce. We welcomed him earthside 1 week ago, on April 13th, 2024, 7 minutes to midnight. And my goodness, my heart 💘. Nothing can prepare you for the instantaneous deep love and connection that comes from popping a baby out of your you-know-what.
Merry Christmas to all of you! May we see Peace on Earth for all ✌️🌍 and let's do what we can to leave this world better for the next generation. Our little ohana is growing fast, and come April we will have another lil human to share this magical time and place with. Life is a precious gift, our Christmas wish is for all of us to care for one another like someone once did for us. Took her a while to arrive, but once she wanted out, sh*! got real, real quick.
Went from strolling to the beach with mild contractions in the evening, to labouring on the hammock at sunset, to popping her out a few hours later…I’ll spare more details.
So far, she’s just the gosh darned best and I’m falling more madly in love with her by the nanosecond/squeak, sleep, grunt, cry, feeding and poop.
Thank you for the flood of messages! I haven’t been on my phone too much since she’s arrived, so if I’m slow to respond, know that we’re super grateful for allllllll the love.

Yesterday was this big ol’ belly’s ‘due date’. I’ve heard to think of the due date as the ‘due from date’ to not impose any unnecessary anxiety about the babe having to arrive on any particular day, and to live your life as per usual. Soaking up the sun with these little goofballs was time best spent 💕

It’s real. This bump is a growin’. A few of you have asked me for bump pics, so on our bike ride through the park my super-wonder-baby-daddy thought to bring his camera✨. So happy to have him home after his gnarly epic month+ long adventure living in the frozen—high-altitude-land on Mt Logan. Breathing all the green into our lungs in our beautiful backyard. @whererusteve
I feel like I’m coming out of a long winters nap, slowly slowly rearing my head out of hibernation mode. Life tucked into the mountains in Whistler was so great, so grounding, and was everything I ever needed, missing it deeply already. But life flowed me back in the direction of the place that has always welcomed me with open arms and beautiful views, settling back into life in my high nest in the sky. The amount of times I’ve gone on a Vancouver hiatus and then returned is too many to count, and this time it feels extra cozy and nice with all my family newly planted nearby. So much love is in the air! And so much love to share! To you and you and you 😘

Sunrise - and the magic before dawn before the rest of the world wakes up. It comes everyday, experientially it comes fewer and far between. I’ve certainly been catching up for years of lost zzz’s living the restorative life tucked in the mountains, but there’s something about life by the water that revives me, certainly making it easier to roll/hop outta bed.
