Have you ever wondered why we're called "Linggo"?
It's time for some lore đ
This band was born out of a Sunday Night house band, which began as the Aidan Miller trio, and was then passed along to Aaron Scoones some years later.
Allegra was often asked to sit in with the Scoones iteration and eventually was asked to join permanently. The group was just advertised under Aaron Scoones' name, but they unofficially referred to themselves on stage as "The Sunday Band".
In 2018, Aaron moved on from the project and the band agreed to rebrand. To keep with the Sunday theme, we settled on "Linggo" as an homage to Allegra's Filipino roots. Even though we don't gig on Sundays much anymore, we keep the name because it's fun and sentimental.
Linggo has evolved over the years, but no matter the repertoire or lineup, we've always strived to find a balance between playing songs that we like to play and our audience will enjoy. We truly love what we do.
Surprise!! We're filling in tonight at @darcyspubdowntown from 10-1 and we wanna see you singing along with the same gusto as these fine young gents!
See you dirtbags there!! đ¤
If you wanna start your year off watching Sebastian absolutely shred the bass (and keys), come see us at Darcy's tonight! We play at 10pm!
After this we aren't back til Feb 6 so if you want your January Linggo dose this is it!
Tonight we are at @bardandbanker at 9pm for some fun mid-holiday vibes! And lucky us, we have @sascha_enns filling in on drums!
This is always such a weird time of the month between Christmas and New Year's Eve. If you're feeling like you're in holiday limbo and just want to listen to some good live music, we'd be happy to have you!

Part 2 - While E&D celebrated with their friends and family, the rest of our vendor team prepared for the eveningâs festivities at their urban reception space.
The reception was the opposite of the earlier festivities which perfectly expressed the dualities that exist in any relationship. Thankfully it had also stopped raining in the middle of the afternoon and as guests arrived they were warmly welcomed to leave their mark in the guestbook, enjoy a beverage at the mobile bar, and play a game or two at the mini vintage arcade before a vegan/gluten free pizza dinner was served. To top it all there were ice cream sandwiches and a live band to keep the festivities going.
PS - if youâre thinking of pulling off a multi location event, it is possible you just need a little creativity, a lot of help, and a genius at timeline management (thatâs me, if you hadnât already guessed đ)

We are almost half way through the season and this year we are noticing more couples opting for live music for their ceremony or reception but if youâre undecided on whatâs right for you, here is some food for thought:
â¨Priorities & Budget: For some couples live music is a must but for others itâs a little lower on the priority list. Once you know where this sits on your list do some research and see if there is an amount you are comfortable spending and let that help you decide on when live music can be a part of your day.
⨠Community: From singing at ceremonies to DJ sets during dancing, you may be surprised to find that your family or friend circle may be waiting to jump on the chance to contribute to your day. Donât be afraid to ask your community if they would be willing to play a special part in your day.
â¨Location: sometimes your venue selection can help you decide if live music is a possibility. For example, if you have limited space a musical duo or DJ may be the best option instead of a large band.
As always, you do you!
