The winter @olympics are starting and we’ll be cheering on athletes all the way to their finish line.
We’ll rejoice with them, hope with them, and support them. All of this before the results come in.
So why don’t we show ourselves the same mindset, the same crazy enthusiasm, and support? If it helps the athletes, I’m pretty sure it will help us achieve that “thing”, whatever our“thing” might be 💪🏆

Find your minimum creative act. It can be a sketch. A quick doodle. Even just some lines.
The important thing is that it brings a samll sprk of joy to your life and that you can do it regularly.

What creativity killer would you add? 😬
I believe that getting good at a creative ssimply not quitting long enough.
Sure, there’s talent. But mostly it’s just practice.
And how to get enough practice in? Well, that’s simple: do it for the process, not the end result 😊
Fall in love with the act of doing it. If you manage this, you will keep creating in perpetuity. And you’ll simply get better as a side-product.

Travel with a sketchbook. I promise you, you will see the world differently 😌
Will the backpack be heavier? Sure.
Will you always slightly annoy fellow travelers waiting for you? Yup.
Can it happen that you miss a flight because you forgot the time while drawing? Yes 😬
But it will be worth it. You will remember the places you draw forever 🫶

If you think you’re not creative, you probably just aren’t engaging in creative activity lately. Which is actually good news. Why? Because you can easily change that :)
Creativity doesn’t have to mean grand pieces of art or coming up with a world-changing idea. It can mean small acts, like a doodle, a sketch, or a few blobs of color on paper.
And when you do that, you’re creating. And if you’re creating, you’re creative.
So if you want to become more creative, just pick up a pen and put some lines on paper. That’s already a great first step. After that, simply keep going :)

I’m not afraid that AI will take our creative work.
What I am afraid of is that we might willingly give it up.
Don’t get me wrong: technology can support us in so many ways. And yes, it can generate stunning images with the click of a button.
But can it pause and truly observe a view for us?
Can it relieve our stress through the act of drawing?
Can it feel the quiet joy of the sound of pen on paper?
No. Those are experiences we get to have ourselves.
And that’s what makes them so valuable.
That’s why I’ll keep drawing, even if AI can create more “perfect” images. Because I don’t draw for perfection. I draw because I love the process 😌
