February 16, 2022. A date I will never forget for the rest of my life. 💖
Today is exactly one year since I got the role of Cinderella. This was my final callback for the role and the furthest I had ever gotten in an audition process for a principal role. 🥺
The most intense, soul-fulfilling, challenging and incredible audition and experience of my life. I left every. bit. of. my. soul. in. that. room. and was so damn proud of myself for leaving an audition for the first time feeling PROUD of myself, regardless of the outcome.
After singing 10283 times, days in a row and belting for our lives at 10am, it was finally the last day of callbacks. After singing and reading and singing some more, I was told to go back to the holding room, but no one else was there. I didn’t think anything of it as I was beyond drained from the day, week, and from having just sobbed my eyes out in “Far Too Late” where our director had me sit in a chair, not move and just sing the song. Let me tell you, I broke DOWN in that chair.
After that is when I realized, it didn’t matter if I booked the role or not because it was the best audition of my life. I gave it my all, trusted myself, got to sing in front of ALW, and just left it up to God.
Casting then came back in and told me our director wanted to see me, again. I sobbed again saying I had nothing left and couldn’t possibly do any of that again. Kevin just said, “just give me all of your stuff. You don’t need anything to go back in.” 🥺
That’s when I went back into the audition room and Andrew Lloyd Webber himself asked me to be his Cinderella. 😭😭💖
A secret I had to keep for almost an entire year and tonight, on this very same date, we have our first audience for our invited dress rehearsal with our first paying audience tomorrow night. When I tell you the timing of this entire experience has been divine and out of this universe, I truly mean it. 🤍

My daddy surprised me at the @bwaygatsby matinee today. 😭😭😭😭 It was his first time seeing the show. 💚
If you know me, you know I’m a daddy’s girl. Through and through. Mami and Papi live far away now, so it makes me so sad that I can’t see them all of the time, or that they can’t always see the shows/concerts/things that I’m performing in. But getting a call from my dad after the show today saying, “I’m outside of your theatre,” made me sob like I was 5 years old all over again. And of course, he came with his bestie, my uncle!! Te quiero Tio!!
