Nora Lange blew all of our minds with her novel US FOOLS and somehow she is having even more of a blast with this new collection. Every page I am bowled over and shocked and laughing. Fun/quick trip to TX for Townes’s 10th bday. Did he let me take pics of him? Rarely. He’s a very live-in-the-moment guy who loves to make us laugh. He’s the most himself person I’ve ever known. I say that a lot. I also say “hey Townes - I love you!” And he says “okay.” He’s unbothered 24/7, unless he’s hangry. At that point watch out. Happy birthday to our guy, the best guy.

Born on the first day of 2013, he turns 13 today. He is everything we could have dreamed of and more. He’s hilarious and smart and kind and he still lets me hold his hand (but no hugs!!) and I live for the moments when he has something interesting he wants to tell me or show me. I love being his mom and his siblings love that he’s their brother. We’re all so lucky. And I know he’s going to snatch my phone and read this so Hi Parker, my baby boo, my dimpy man!
Kitty Man was missing for 3 days. Tonight I walked the alleys by our house shaking his treats and calling his name. I returned home sure he was gone forever. Then suddenly he was walking up to the back door like OPEN UP ALREADY. I keep checking to see if it’s a dream. A Christmas miracle!
