vocal rec part 2 for @circleninemusic
I recently switched from the Distressor to one of our Blue 1176s for vocal tracking. There is something about that sound that just feels more aggressive and a bit nostalgic. Only a few dB of gain reduction and the vocal already sits in the mix. Love that.
Also randomly rediscovered Korn lately. Felt like hearing it for the first time again. Constantly going oh wow⦠oh shit⦠that low end is insane. Kind of wild that I never really listened to them on proper monitors since going full time with audio.
A milestone moment: stepping into the studio, recording the first take, and shaping the sound that defines this project. Pure energy, real performance, no filters.

We just wrapped up a drum session and have to give a huge shoutout to @abacus_electronics and their Mirra 14 speakers. Every time we move from our recording studio into our mixing studios, weβre blown away by how everything sounds exactly like it did when we tracked it in the big room. Mixing becomes pure joy.
