Events like this are an important reminder that mental health isn’t something we only think about in the workplace it’s part of our everyday lives. Creating a culture where people feel supported, encouraged to speak up and empowered to look after their wellbeing is essential both on and off the job.
In construction especially, it’s vital that we continue to break down barriers, promote open conversations and make mental health a priority for everyone.

A lovely morning at Limerick Mental Health Association @limerickmha with the wonderful ladies of Muslim Sisters of Éire Limerick.
We began with a fun ice‑breaker, followed by an insightful talk from Emily on the importance of mental health, self‑care, and breaking the stigma around women taking time out for themselves.
From burnout and stress to menopause and the emotional load so many women carry, the conversation was open, honest and deeply relatable. The room felt safe, warm and full of shared wisdom.
We were especially delighted to be joined by our founder Lorraine O’Connor @lorraine.oconnor.14 , along with team member Nora, who travelled all the way from Dublin to be part of this morning’s gathering.
Some beautiful takeaways we’re bringing into our daily lives: talking to someone when we feel overwhelmed, journaling to lighten the mind, and giving ourselves permission to rest.
A heartfelt thank you to Ian Hackett and the @limerickmha team for hosting us so generously at the Solace Café, and to all the amazing ladies who joined us this morning.
