Always my favorite Dodger game of the season! This years Catrina Dodger costume was inspired by my trip to Japan earlier this year… and going to a Japanese baseball game! The Tokyo Swallows baseball team has baseball cheerleaders and the beer girls have the cutest girly baseball hat hack! All I saw was cute Dodger Catrina vibes! …and plus Ohtani, hello!! The air feels heavy with the relentless attacks on our immigrant community, but in that weight…
I also feel our strength!
Like the monarch butterfly, we crossed borders with courage and grace, we endured many challenges and obstacles for the dream of a better life.
The monarch butterfly is also symbolic during Día de Muertos. It reminds us that we carry the spirit of those who came before us, who taught us resilience in the face of struggle. I stand with immigrants everywhere, with my parents, grandparents and with every story of sacrifice and love that built this country. We are living testaments of strength, dignity, unity and hope.
We do belong.
Families belong together.
Together we stand united.🧡🖤✊🏽🦋✨

The sweetest Día De Las Madres / Mother’s Day at my brother’s house.🌸💞🥹 My brother and the husbands put together Mother’s Day Sunday this year for us and it was just perfect. Homemade pizza, fun lotería, yummy drinks, and sweet gifts. We feel so lucky and loved.🥹

Mother’s Day is such a special holiday… every single one of us is here on this earth because of our mother.
May all mothers of all kinds be blessed… near, far, & everywhere in between… especially the moms that are in heaven watching over their children, mom’s who have lost or can’t be with their babies. 🌸💐

It’s been 3 years since I last saw my abuelita. I missed her dearly, she is 93 years old and although she has great energy, she confesses she is tired.🥺She told me last month over the phone that she felt the light on her candle was dimming… I had never heard her talk like that before. She is always a positive and go-get-them attitude, doesn’t like being called old and never complains… as long as there is a Mexican Coke next to her, she is good. So, I had to see her.🥹

93 years old! Her mom, my great-grandma lived just shy of 100 years old. Incredible! “The buena madera”, the saying goes.

So happy I had a chance to still visit my Rosita, while she is still here with us. Hugging my grandma is one of the best feelings in my entire world. She is soft and smells like fresh soap. I love her so much…so if you have your grandma near you, hug her every chance you get. I hope I don’t wait another 3 years to see her again. 🥲
This has been weighing heavy on me, because I do feel I’m a super @dodgers fan… and since June of last year, things have shifted for me.
The minute the Dodgers won the 2024 Championship, I already knew what my next Dodgers Catrina was going to be for the following Día de Los Dodgers in September 2025!😃Thats how all in I was with the team that brought so much joy in my life. A much needed distraction from a chaotic world.

But then June 2025 happened… the attacks on our neighbors & communities by 🧊🧊🧊 was shocking to say the least.
And the silence from the Dodgers organization was so loud it was heartbreaking. No statement of solidarity (like other L.A. teams) for a die hard fanbase that is basically the target of these attacks, these kidnappings! It’s been devastating.
Hence no 2025 Dodgers Catrina.😔

I know that’s two things can be true at the same time:
Generational love for the Los Angeles Dodgers doesn’t just disappear overnight…
But neither does the hurt.💔
.
We’ll still be here for the game, the players.
I’m just not showing up the same way anymore.
For me, being a fan feels different. If I do decide to create another Dodgers Catrina one day, it definitely will be with a twist.

These days being a Dodgers fan means, love… and disappointment. Pride… and pain.💔💙

I just know Loyalty & Love shouldn’t feel one-sided.😔
I think it’s a flex to have super amazing creative friends!🤩
