“How do we hold an image steady when the act of remembering is an act itself in motion?
A silent looping video finds lilyillo at her most economical. A single linen sheet flutters across a forested stage, its movement choreographed as if by an unseen breeze. Over several hypnotic seconds the cloth gathers anthropomorphic grace, at one moment it pirouettes like a vaudeville mime, the next it folds in on itself, collapsing with perhaps what Shakespeare referred to as a ‘dying fall’. Each cycle re-presents the same action, inviting viewers to study the micro-variations in fold and shadow. The sheet becomes a surrogate body, part mime, part self-portrait, enacting the pressure of memories that replay themselves until meaning collapses under their own insistence… every ripple seems sewn rather than simulated.”

Following my reading of ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’ by American writer Philip K. Dick I could not shake this goat from my mind - it is not hard, if you know me well you would know I love goats.
Anyway, I thought about the role of women in post-apocalyptic lands, the domestic day-to-day of the left behind. I thought of those caring for children and animals in war zones. I thought about Gaza.
All the themes of companionship and closeness, the uncanny valley, and how quickly we feel compassion and kinship, even intimacy with AI.
I know I would tend to a little robotic toad, if it was all I had.

I am so honoured to be exhibiting a new 1/1 video work in the thoughtfully curated group exhibition "Eidetic Memory" curated by @garyedwardblum & @accomparts with auctions beginning 15th of July.
The show encourages works that reflect on how memory functions visually—how it clarifies, confuses, protects, and even erases. Each piece will contribute to a larger conversation about the ways we try to picture what cannot be fully retrieved.

Picnic Dance
This is what you'll become when you die:
The sunlight that warms the cat.
The cloud that moves in the high breeze.
The ribbon that dances at some quiet celebration.
The texture of soap between my fingertips.
The tea that warms me as it descends the oesophagus.
I will seek you, and notice you there.
When it fooms
I love to remember that gardens continue growing after their gardeners are gone. Sometimes in ways planned, sometimes in entirely new directions. Like an AI foom, keeping pace as the green creeps in.
