Today marks one year since my face reveal. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Big decisions come with big challenges, and there were difficult times, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Your support has made it all worth it, along with the amazing people and experiences I’ve been able to have. I learned so much about myself.
But I was terrified to take it off. I was debating it for 5 years.. kept it on out of fear - fear of failure, being seen, privacy invasion, self-image, career impact, and even success. The list goes on… It took time to realize these fears were in my head, and were stopping me from being the best version of myself... but I faced them, and now I couldn’t feel more liberated.
I hope you do the same. Stop letting fear guide you. Liberate yourself because the world will always try to oppress you. Only you can set yourself free. Doesn’t matter how scary it is. Take your mask off and show the world what you got. The world needs it. We deserve to hear and see each other, even if it means facing failure or vulnerability. We need change. We need you. Don’t let fear get in the way of that.
