MerMay: Prompts were thrown out the window for this one. I heard about some families in the county I went to school in getting upset at the use of the word "moms" in a children's book, even though it was just background detail and not a main focus. They tried to get the book taken out of the library. I was so angry at their ignorance, that I decided my next mermaid piece would be lesbians. I don't usually do multiple figures because it's hard for me to keep them proportional to each other. But I think they turned out pretty. Anyways, here's to all the Moms in all their forms! ❤️ #mermay2026
MerMay Day 4: Sun. I drew her last night but wasn't able to ink her until tonight. I think I may want to do a paper art of this one, but would have to draw our her full tail and sceptor. I'd probably also ditch the tiara and just have her hand in a different position. Her corset piece is gold armor. I was trying to channel Galaxia from Sailor Moon. I can finally share this guy! He was a commission for my friend to give as a birthday present. I loved doing this one because the colors and shapes are so bold! I ended up adding an extra layer in the wings because when I glued the rolled paper behind it, it created dents on the front which I could not get rid of (see last pic). Although the extra layer looks better so it was kinda a win! I had prints made so if you see me this year, I'll have them in stock. Who's your favorite Pokémon?
I can't believe it's less than a month away! I will have these three originals along with their prints. I also plan to get some paintings done and will post as I finish them. All set up at the CVA Art Walk in Farmville! We're open until 3pm. I forgot my pretty tassles to hang at the front of my tent. 🤦♀️ But I remembered my fans and food so it's all good. Haha. So happy the rain decided not to come. Shout out to my friend Amy for helping me setup and hanging with me today!
I'm so happy with how my Willow Fae turned out! Cutting out every single braid was worth it. The grass nest turned out better than my original plan. This is my final piece for the @ravencon art gallery and auction. There will also be prints available, both there and with me at the CVA Art Walk in Farmville. The framed original is 7x9 inches.
