25 years ago, @katiespencer816 was grounded (again) and had her driving privileges revoked temporarily by her parents. As a result, she needed to rely on me for rides to school… granting this once incredibly weird, sock-wearing-at-the-beach gal the opportunity to ensnare her (and as at result, the entire Spencer/Bova clan, and numerous family friends for generations to come) into a lifelong friendship. Charlie & Debs, I couldn’t be more grateful for your strict parenting and the sister-bestie it’s given me in Kate (and you too @swspencer ). Our annual week on Block Island is always the most special, soul-resetting time, but this trip was unlike any other in that we got to love on this phenomenal human for her 40th birthday, surrounded by a wild crew of gorgeous reprobates and enough mudslides to sink a ship. Sure, we may be banned for life from the Spring House, but we went out in style. You couldn’t write it better if you tried #Welcomesarahspencer
