It feels like we’re hurtling through the summer time warp at a dangerously fast pace, but at least Rooster’s finally starting to get the hang of this whole biking thing!
(thx 4 letting me deface your beautiful photo, @lesliehittmeier !! pls swipe to see original:)
Corndog methods! The last mitts I did for @oliviakesterson (six years ago?!) were hot dog method/corn on the cob themed so a corndog method in space felt like an appropriate progression.
I have a special place in my heart for art on garbage cans, toilet seats, and outhouses. When @bigskyarts announced their plan to decorate the bear-proof trash cans around town, I jumped on it and drew a whitebark-themed piece.
Whitebarks are my favorite tree and are a keystone species in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Grizzly bears, red squirrels, and Clark’s nutcrackers (my favorite bird:) all depend upon whitebark pines as a food source, and the whitebark pine depends upon the Clark’s nutcracker for the dispersal of its seeds. Whitebarks are currently threatened by white pine blister rust, mountain pine beetle infestations, and climate change.
Recreation is a way of life in Big Sky so I wanted to include that, but I kept it small, as a reminder that we’re just a piece of the puzzle. In order to recreate responsibly, we need to maintain awareness of the plants and animals in our environment. The more we know, the better equipped we are to reduce our impact.
There’s so much neat art on all the garbage cans around town. I would highly recommend taking a walk to check it all out! Thank you for doing this @bigskyarts@bigskytowncenter and @jesinemunson !!! If you’re still reading and have a toilet seat or outhouse you need someone to paint, HIT ME UP :)
We are down to the final few of our favorite Rad(ish) Tees! Scoop yours before they are gone for good! Should Lila do another art tee??? We think yes...
I made this design a year and a half ago so I’m a little late to the party, but what’s new? A couple months ago, @_mitchmontana_ sent me this photo of a Sparkle tattoo he saw. If this is your arm, thank you!
I loved making this design as Sparkle is one of my absolute favorite trails on the planet. Big thank you to the crew at @legacybikepark for building such a legendary trail and for letting me run wild with the shirt design for it. Can’t wait to ride it again in a few months! I LOVE SPARK 👽✨🪐👩🏻🚀🛸
