Iāve always struggled to call my hobbies āartāā¦ to be a self-titled artist.
The expectations of the world, but really of myself, have felt too heavy. Where did I learn that my creativity had to be āsomething?ā
While an obvious question (read: capitalism, decades of school, comparison mindset), the unlearning remains a lifelong process.
So, here I am: an artist with many trades and many moment of imperfectionā¦but also even more moments of JOY and PRIDE in continuing on my journey, learning new crafts and loving my own bravery to be new, to embody new parts of me, to pursue the artist i hope i will be one day. š¤
I hope this message encourages a few of my other secret hobbyists to bravely believe in their art.
