Caption 🇯🇵 LETS COOK A5 WAGYU 🥩 “I’m scared I’m going to mess this up” If this is what you think about Wagyu, we’re about to prove you wrong! It is incredibly easy to make and doesn’t require any extra steps. Just salt it, sear it and enjoy! Umami has never been easier. Here we have an A5 Ribeye, they are very rich and this one is about 3/4” so it will cook very fast. Even when over cooked, it will still taste good.. not that we’ve tried.. we just heard.. 😉 1. Cut away any fat to be used for cooking or greasing up pan. Don’t throw this flavor nugget away! 2. Cut steak into desired portions or cook whole! Here we are separating the cap from the ribeye. We consider these 2 different steaks and will treat them as such. 3. Salt both sides. 4. Heat pan to high, use the fat from earlier to coat the pan. If using non stick, you can skip this. We avoid using oil as a lot of fat will render out when cooking. 5. Sear the steak - 90 secs per side. Look for that golden brown crust! 6. Place onto cutting board and rest for 10 minutes. 7. 🇯🇵 🥩 A5 STRIP - Deconstructed! Maybe we have a little too much time on our hands today but let’s walk through this beautiful A5 Striploin and break it down for ya. Sometimes it can look like a ribeye when it is cut closer toward the rib section. The Striploin comes after the rib from the Shortloin. If you get a Strip Steak Aka NY Strip that was cut close to the Rib section you’re in luck because it might just come with some of that spinalis or rib cap attached to it! We’re cutting up an A5 Miyazaki Strip here and creating smaller “sampler” portions that are budget friendly and allow anyone to try the best beef this planet has to offer. ENJOY! A5 ZABUTON 🇯🇵 🥩 Man, what a beauty these are.. we’ve been waiting to get these in and I’d say it was worth the wait 😋, these are at least a BMS11, just peep the marbling. Stoked when I cut into these. One of my fav steaks ever. Best way to describe it is a cross between a strip and a short rib. Acts like strip, but taste in between short rib. One of my fav cuts that feels like a secret to know 🤫 A5 Flat Iron / Misuji - a unique steak with an outstanding flavor! Sourced from Hasegawa Farms, A5 Bushugyu. These are cut from the shoulder so although very tender it will hold more structure in the bite vs melting away completely. Good balance of beefy profile to fat in imo. This is not Japanese Wagyu but it sure as hell looks just like it! Almost had me fooled, these are BMS 9+ (Blue Label) strips and the marbling was everything you’d hope it could be.
