Upgraded the battery tie down today on the 818. The one that came with the lightweight battery was plastic and came loose on me. Now it's very secure, with the added benefit of being on its side for a lower center of gravity.

Autocross today was an absolute blast. We got a little sideways on the last run. Ran 8 laps, was 3rd in my class, and nothing broke. I'll call that a successful first outing.

Some of you may have caught the Easter egg in my last post. I have officially registered the 818 for its first autocross event! I'll be racing in the Xtreme Unlimited class against some pretty stiff competition, including an Ultima GTR and a DF Goblin. I can't wait to get out there, develop my skills, and meet some great people.🏁

Knocked out a bunch of things on the 818 to get ready for PA enhanced vehicle safety inspection. Windshield washer is working, headlights are working, turn signal hyperflash issue fixed, "defroster" installed. Just a few more things to button up and she'll hopefully be road legal!

The 818 is coming home tomorrow! Here's a clip from the dyno tune at Bespoke Performance and Fabrication. It's so exciting to have the car at this level of completion. Just a few more things to do before I can have it inspected to be street legal. Can't wait!

Well, sometimes you get burned buying used parts. 🙄 The STI intercooler that I bought used, and worked so hard to clean up nicely, was bad. Discovered a boost leak during testing. I'd like to believe that the seller didn't know, but part of me thinks he did. It will make for some cool garage wall art.
Anyway, we move onto bigger and better things. The 818 now has a massive Grimmspeed intercooler! 😁 I'm surprised it fit, given the tight nature of the engine bay in this car.
