Happy Oscar Sunday ~ I only made it through 7/10 Best Picture nominees this year. The last one I watched—Train Dreams— is proof that these awards are not necessarily a fair or perfect process…and that this beautiful art form is subjective in so many ways.
How was this film not mentioned more this awards season? Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, William H. Macy & Clint Bentley (director) were snubbed too. Train Dreams is STUNNING and felt like taking an intimate peek of one man’s precious life through a picture viewer. My eyes welled up the entire time.
If Sinners wins, it will be for (IMO) that magical musical/dance sequence that travels through time & space—I feel like I could watch that on a loop all-day-long because it was mesmerizing.

I saw a meme yesterday that said “younger me didn’t consider there would be an older me.”
It made me think about how “young single mom” me—parenting adorable, funny, outgoing, sweet, silly, talented & intelligent Tyler —didn’t think far enough in the future to consider the older “empty nest mom” me with an adult son and what that would be like.
If parents strive for their children to do and be better, to break generational traumas and patterns, and to live a joyful passionate life, then I already won the lottery and don’t I know it.
Tyler- you have far surpassed any hope or expectation I ever could have had for the human being you’ve become. I love you to infinity and BEYOND!! Happy Birthday son!! 💕🚀 🥰🥳🤩♥️🧸🎉🎁🎂🍭

I searched for recent documentaries to watch with my morning coffee and this one spoke to me. It was viewed with a side of Woodpecker going to town on the tree out front for the first hour. Oh, how I love Idyllwild. . .
I cried within a minute and laughed within two. And then cried some more. If you are in desperate need of a story that will soften your heart in this otherwise hardened, cruel state of the world, I can’t recommend this film enough.

I’ve been a fan of GET LIT from afar for a while but got to experience the beauty of the program up close for once. So fun seeing Tyler participate as a judge for their finals. Reminded me of DTASC days 😍🥹😊!!
