Have you ever heard of a frog that barks like a dog?
The Barking Frog is a species that lives in wetlands throughout Australia and makes a barking sound. This curious creature inspired the creation of a wine brand and range of approachable wines for adventurous Gen Z and Millennial consumers.
To engage the target buyers, Barking Frog is aligned with a purpose to support an environmental initiative. Positioned at approximately $25 rrp per bottle, the wines are also intended to be affordable for the target market.
With a quirky name like Barking Frog, it was a fantastic opportunity to bring a playful character to life. ‘Fred’ is a frog who behaves like a dog; playing fetch with his best friend, tugging his lead and chasing cats.
A minimal, bright green label on a bold bottle was designed to stand out on the shelf and attract the target consumer. To support the brands environmental intentions, the labels are printed on eco-friendly paper.
