Cooking up something new in Lightframer 🔬
The new minimum Focus Heatmap lets you see your lens’s close focus in real time. Pick your camera, your lens, your focal length and the iPhone’s LiDAR sensor lights up the frame: 🔴 Red = too close, your lens won’t focus there 🟡 Yellow = right at the edge of close focus 🟢 Green = inside your focus range, you’re good It pulls the close focus distance straight from the lens database, so an ARRI Master Prime 50mm and a Cooke S4 50mm show different boundaries, exactly like the real glass. Bonus: Using a diopter? Tap the +¼, +½, +1, +2, or +3 chip and the math instantly recalculates the new range. See exactly where your focus falls before you commit to that close-up.
⚠️ Note: this is not a depth of field visualizer. It doesn't show you where your focus is, it shows you the area your selected lens is capable of focusing on at all. So you know before you set up the shot whether your subject is even reachable with that glass.
