What I eat in a day at 56 to have a flat tummy. I eat carbs every day and my stomach is flatter now than it was in my 40s. Here is exactly what I do.
One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water before anything. Acetic acid slows glucose absorption so your body stores less fat.
Lemon water to hydrate after sleeping all night.
A small bowl of blueberries strawberries and walnuts with green juice. Fiber starts with my first meal and I never have coffee on an empty stomach because caffeine on an empty stomach spikes cortisol which leads to belly fat storage.
Electrolytes then coffee with oat milk. I dropped dairy and the bloating stopped. Dairy causes inflammation in the gut for a lot of women and they have no idea.
Protein shake with flax seeds. More fiber and it keeps you full longer because it slows digestion.
Walk my dog. Moving after you eat helps your muscles use glucose instead of letting your body store it as fat.
Lunch is my biggest meal. Salad with homemade dressing salmon white rice and black beans. Fiber on every plate. Then blueberry pie because something sweet is not negotiable.
After lunch I grab the laundry and walk down my hallway. That is my gym. Even ten minutes of movement after eating lowers your blood sugar before it spikes.
Water all day. Fiber needs water to move through your system. Without it fiber causes bloating instead of reducing it.
Dinner is gluten free. Tortilla chips with homemade dip chicken meatballs and green beans. Gluten causes inflammation and bloating for a lot of women over 40.
After dinner I walk again. Three meals three walks.
One more tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with water before bed. Studies show this helps stabilize blood sugar while you sleep.
Fiber at every meal. Movement. That is the secret. Comment yes for links!
Save this for later.

Most women over 40 struggle with one thing that instantly changes an outfit: pairing the right shoes with the right pants. When the proportions are off, even a beautiful look can feel unbalanced. This guide breaks down the exact combinations that create clean lines, elongate your silhouette, and make everyday outfits look polished and intentional.
Quick recap:
-Wide-leg pants + pointed-toe heels
-Cropped trousers + polished loafers
-Skinny jeans or leggings + riding boots
-Straight-leg pants + ballet flats
-Flared pants or bootcut denim + sleek ankle boots

Rome is not a destination. It is a feeling. The cobblestones, the color of the walls, the air that somehow makes everything feel possible.
There is something about this city that slows everything down and reminds you what actually matters. What is left is the version of you that needs no explanation.
If you are in your 40s or 50s and you have ever stood somewhere and thought — this is exactly where I am supposed to be — this is your reminder that life is still so full of those moments.

White button down outfits are more versatile than most women over 40 give them credit for — and you already own everything you need. The collar up, the cuffs showing, the half tuck — these three details are the difference between reaching for it out of habit and actually feeling something when you put it on. With trousers, with jeans, with a black skirt — the silhouette doesn’t matter. The way you wear it does. Most women never think of it as a first layer. Throw a blazer over it and let the cuffs show. That one detail changes the entire outfit. And for evening — a long black skirt, taffeta, sequins. Nobody sees it coming. Not boring at all.

Capris are having a moment and styling them elegantly over 40 comes down to three things — proportion, shoe, and top. I love them for summer instead of shorts — they work in so many silhouettes, fabrics, and colors, even satin. The good news is they are incredibly versatile — almost every shoe works beautifully with capris. The only thing to avoid is anything bulky or heavy on the foot, which cuts the leg and throws off the whole silhouette. I am showing you five ways to wear them from sporty to evening so you can stop second-guessing and start wearing them with confidence this summer.

Making new friends in your 50s and ending up in Italy …this is what saying yes looks like.
New friendships, new passport stamps, and the quiet realization that the best chapters of your life are still being written.
Nobody prepares you for how good it gets. They should.
We are spending days getting lost in cobblestone streets, wearing everything we packed, and laughing more than we have in years.
This is the trip we did not know we needed.
If your 50s have surprised you in the best possible way, this one is for you.❤️
How I travel low maintenance at 56 — without doing more. Low maintenance travel does not mean no effort. It means fewer decisions, better systems, and knowing the why behind every habit.
The IV builds immunity before airports and recycled air. NAD keeps energy and focus sharp from the moment you land.
Packing supplements early tells you what you are out of while you still have time to order it. Shift your wake time fifteen to thirty minutes earlier each day before you leave. That small change moves your caffeine window automatically. You arrive partially adjusted before you ever board.
At 37,000 feet your hair air dries into waves while you sleep.
When you land — no napping. Eat according to the destination time zone. The first day is the most difficult and the most important. Get it right and the rest of the trip takes care of itself. Greens and fiber at every meal keep digestion on schedule — the most overlooked part of feeling good on a trip.
That is the entire system. It’s all in the details.
Save this for your next trip and follow for more habits that make life effortless. Comment STYLE for all the links!

Walking the streets of Rome in a lace skirt, ballet flats, and a windbreaker — comfortable and elegant are not opposites.
A white tee layered under anything is the simplest style hack I keep coming back to. It changed the whole outfit.

In our fifties, we started influencing each other…and it changed everything.
None of this came from an ad.
It came from a conversation, a recommendation, a trusted friend who said try this.
This is what went in in their fifties are actually passing to each other. The things that upgrade your life, your health, and your style, one influence at a time ❤️
I’m 56, an empty nester, and a women’s retreat in Italy has been on my list since I knew this chapter was coming. All three kids grown — and I finally kept the promise I made to myself.
I didn’t overthink it. I didn’t wait for the perfect time. My friend was leading a women’s retreat in Italy — the moment she said yes, so did I.
Two days in Rome first. Then the Italian countryside — morning workouts, a female owned flower farm, pasta making, wine tasting with a female sommelier, and a room full of like-minded women all in the same chapter of life.
The women in that room all had one thing in common — they finally said yes to themselves.
If this is calling you — don’t wait. Follow along, I am just getting started.
Send this to the friend you want to do this with.
