Five years of Life’s Jam. 💜
May 4, 2021, I was in Key West about to walk into an Old Dominion show when I clicked publish on my website and officially put Life’s Jam out into the world.
It makes me smile because I definitely did not have it all figured out. But I knew I had to start somewhere.
The idea had started the year before, when @olddominionmusic shared that their crew needed help paying rent when Covid hit. Then I started seeing more fundraisers for people in the live music world, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
So I started reaching out to contacts and asking how I could help.
That one question turned into conversations, coaching sessions, workshops, festivals, panels, lunch tables, backstage chats, Zoom calls, and five years of learning from the people who make this industry run.
I had no idea where it would go.
But I am so glad I did it.
And I’m so grateful for every person who has trusted me with their story along the way.
Here’s to five years of helping music people feel a little more supported, a little less alone, and more confident building a life that works for them. 💜
So excited to be heading back to Key West Songwriters Festival for its 30th anniversary. 🥳
This festival has such a special place in my heart. Years ago, Charlie Bauer gave me the chance to help out, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity, the memories, and the doorway it opened into this incredible music community.
