Handcrafted by surfers…Ryan putting some hands on love into the Eco Light up-cycled core of a Lib X Mayhem @matt_biolos Pisces. Our unique materials and process take surf board building and performance into the future. Our blanks blown with an environmentally friendly non ozone depleting blowing agent. They contain 25-40% recycled content. The foam is closed cell so it won’t absorb water if you do get a ding. It has high compression strength so it is very dent resistant. We are able to process all our tusks, shavings and dust into dense blocks and have it up-cycled back into foam (last photo). This year we added two new shapes and smaller sizes of the Super Smooth operator to our high performance Eco Impacto2 Lite line up for a total of 7 amazing rides. The fast fishy high performance Pisces is the latest of Matt’s RNF inspired all condition surf craft. Effortlessly efficient as an everyday board…bad waves, good waves, mid-level surfers, elite pros and every wave and person in between. The Big Rig driver is the first of Matt’s Driver series to be built in Lib Techs construction. Matt felt like our new Eco Impacto2 is light and responsive enough to complement his highest performance world tour tuned shapes. Inspired by the incredible surfing of Cole Houshmand the Big Rig is a direct derivative for the Driver 3.0 and 2.0 scaled up not dummied down. Matts legendary high performance shaping is now more than ready for daily driver abuse and offers dream trip performance and dependability. Eco Impacto2 Lite is our latest lightest construction evolution offering lively response, rugged durability and an environmentally nicer construction, materials and process. An amazing 1 lb lighter than our previous builds 2 Lite features; Eco Lite upcycled foam wrapped in pressure treated Hexylite thermo fusion power panels, G glass and magnesium fiber fused in our plant based Bio Matrix resin system. Matt’s shapes in our new construction feel amazing under the arm and even better under your feet. The addition of our Hammerbox urethane fin boxes takes durability to another level. Our surf materials/process guru and co-founder Mike Olson was in Baja for his B day. @matt_biolos and @turtletater (me 🤣) had a treat waiting for him when he got home! Mike grew up surfing in the 80s. Contest surfing was pretty exciting back then because the top surfers were often on radically different equipment. Mike loved MRs performance twin fins (check the shirt), Simon’s tri, and was especially stoked on Cheyne Horan’s wide tail, pointed nose, wide point back single fin designs. He connected with Cheyne’s skate influenced surfing and way outside the box design theories. When he got his new purple checkered Biolos x Horan Rad Zapper Mike got so excited he dug into his archive of surf craft and pulled out the “Mongoloid” green and yellow Cheyne influenced epoxy zap variation he shaped for himself in 1983. Mike is very picky about surf shapes and I haven’t seen him this excited about a new shape in a long time. You can see the grom Rad Zapper twinkle in his eyes.
