💥Free Comic Book Day is back! 💥
Tomorrow, we're joining with readers across the globe in celebrating the creativity, community, and pure fun that comics bring to fans everywhere. This annual event is the perfect chance to dive into new stories, revisit favorite characters, and discover hidden gems…all for free. On Saturday, May 2, kids and teens are invited to stop by their local library to pick up a comic of their own - no return required. Get there early, because this is only available while supplies last.
HUGE thanks go to The Comic Store (in Lancaster, PA) for supplying the libraries with these materials.
Have you picked up the latest Libby Reads title yet? It's instantly available in both eBook and eAudio format through May 7!
Readers of Olga Dies Dreaming and fans of Julia Alvarez will be captivated by this spellbinding story told from multiple perspectives and spanning a generation, as a baffling genealogy test connects two young women across cultures and class and sets in motion the events that might unravel a decades-old crime at last. Visit Libby today for access!
Thank you for celebrating National Library Week with us this year! We hope you discover new ways that your library can bring you joy for the rest of the year, too. Remember, in the words of librarian Mychal Threets, "Books + Libraries + You = JOY!"
While not technically a part of National Library Week, books are firmly tied to libraries, joy, and LIBRARY JOY! How perfect that we get to celebrate World Book Day today, too. What book are you hoping to sneak a few pages of (or dive into for hours) today?
We interrupt your library week content for some adorable GOATS! To celebrate Earth Day, Library System office employees took a moment to join @greenfieldlancaster celebrations, meet with conservation organizations from around the county, and snuggle with goats and lambs for some well-earned stress relief.
We got to talk to @lancasterconservancy about their trails (who else is ready for GO! Lancaster hiking season?), sample some wellness juices (I might have to check out a cookbook for more tasty ideas), grab some native plant seeds (good thing I can check out a trowel and other gardening supplies from the library), and generally celebrate the hard work folks around our community are doing to keep Lancaster thriving and beautiful. 🌎
It's Outreach Day! Did you know that in Lancaster County, @bookmobilelancaster travels around to bring library services and materials to those who may not be able to get to a physical location? Check out the calendar to find out where it's stopping next!

On National Library Workers Day, we celebrate the staff members of all the member libraries in the county. These brilliant individuals pour their passions and time into helping community members like you!
Help us to celebrate them - can you share an interaction that you had with a library worker that brought YOU joy? Give the library a shout out if you remember where you had this experience, too!
Happy National Library Week! This week is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning. From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.
How has your library brought YOU joy over the years? By sharing your stories, you help other community members learn about the power and potential that libraries provide, so please chime in! ☺️🔖
