Some of the most important conversations happen over a project like this. Every boy deserves a space where his creativity is taken seriously. This is ours at @librarieswithoutwalls .
Happy International Day of the Boy Child.
Bringing offline-compatible digital content and guided sessions directly to students in Osu.
No stable internet? No problem. Our @librarieswithoutwalls program use devices preloaded with lessons, videos, and practice exercises. Students work in small groups, pause, replay, and teach each other.
Facilitators are there to guide and we grateful for the work they do to expand digital equity to children everywhere.

Arts and creativity create space where generations actually talk to each other.
At @librarieswithoutwalls , we use arts, literacy storytelling and hands-on making to bring parents, elderly folks and young learners into the same community spaces as co-creators. That makes the exchange relevant and gives elders a recognized role as knowledge holders.
The result is learning that moves both ways. Young people gain context and skills they won’t find in a textbook. Elders see their knowledge applied and valued by the next generation.
What’s one art or creative practice from your community that could bring different age groups together?
9 in 10 children in Ghana cannot read by age 10.
We refuse to accept that.
The Community Literacy Caravan is rolling through underserved communities across Ghana, putting books in hands, sparking curiosity, engaging children in storytelling and writing and proving that every child can read!

Community Literacy Caravan : Storytelling
This round of the caravan centered on storytelling.
Learners shared personal stories, listened to stories, read together and wrote their own short pieces using guided prompts. We paired each session with book distributions so students leave with material they can read and build on.
Our aim is to make reading active by connecting it to lived experience and voice. When students tell and hear stories in their own context, literacy becomes relevant and remembered.
This outreach was coordinated with school authorities from Stages and Fountain of Knowledge Schools and community leaders in Ayikuma to reach learners in underserved areas.
Community Literacy Caravan #2 is live
We’re back on the road bringing books, reading sessions, and hands-on literacy activities to communities in Shai Osudoku.
This project focuses on getting materials into the hands of learners who need them most, running read-alouds with local facilitators, and creating space for students to read, write, and share stories in their own voices, including multilingual conversations.
Built with school authorities, community leaders, and volunteers to ensure it reaches the right learners and stays rooted in local context.
Literacy for People. Literacy for the Planet. Literacy for Prosperity
Grateful to our friends at @peacefirstorg for supporting this initiative.
