What started as a vision by former Liberian First Lady Clar Marie Weah has now turned into a reality and the outcomes continue to amaze everyone. After traveling across the country as First Lady, Madam Weah saw how many underprivileged children especially girls suffered to gain quality education and basic needs. What did she do? Started the establishment of the @clarhopefoundation which would later birth the City of Hope Academy @firstladyclarm.weah with a simple yet powerful objective- annually recruit underprivileged girls especially orphans across the country in collaboration with the Gender Ministry and partners, bring them to the academy, and give them the best care and quality education they deserve meeting international standards at no cost. Yesterday, students visited the Roberts International Airport to have a basic understanding and experience of what traveling looks like. This is impact. This is what building the future looks like. This is what uplifting looks like. #liberia #viral #fyp #liberiapositives #beautifulliberia

They tried to divide us by tribe, language, county and history. But every generation keeps proving something stronger: We are still one people. From the streets of Monrovia to every village, coast and community — this land belongs to all of us. Happy National Unification Day, Liberia 🇱🇷 One future. One heartbeat. One Liberia. #Liberia #UnificationDay #LiberiaUnificationDay #Monrovia

Oh wow. 😍 Watch this short video as this young diaspora Liberian girl recreates one of her favorite childhood memories which was or is very popular in rural Liberia and underprivileged communities across the country. Did you play this? Can anyone help with the name? 🎥 @lynlyn8077 #liberia #memories #liberiapositives #visitliberia #beautifulliberia

🇱🇷 LAKE TELEH — NIMBA Lake Teleh is Liberia's only recognized artificial lake! An abandoned man-made lake Teleh, a once-promising project that now stands as a stark reminder of lost potential and unrealized aspirations. Lake Teleh was created as part of an ambitious development project initiated by the Liberian government in the early 2000s. The idea behind the lake’s construction was to boost the local economy, provide recreational facilities, and enhance the livelihoods of the people residing in Sanniquellie City and its surrounding areas. In the initial stages, Lake Teleh was hailed as an engineering marvel, with its construction requiring significant investment and human resources. The process involved damming a river and creating a large reservoir, which would serve as a centerpiece for tourism and economic activities. Local communities and businesses had high hopes for the project, anticipating increased job opportunities, improved water supply, enhanced agricultural productivity, and a thriving tourism sector. Moreover, the lake offered the potential for hydroelectric power generation, which could have contributed to the region’s energy needs. However, despite early progress and enthusiasm, Lake Teleh soon encountered numerous challenges that ultimately led to its abandonment. The project faced funding shortages, insufficient maintenance, and a lack of sustainable management strategies. As a result, the lake began to deteriorate, affecting the ecosystem and diminishing its overall appeal. The neglect and abandonment of the lake derailed the expected benefits and dashed the hopes of the local population. The once-promising project turned into a symbol of unfulfilled promises and wasted resources, casting a shadow over the area. Repost from: Explore Liberia 1

You think you know Liberia? 🇱🇷 You don’t. Most people only see the struggles… and miss the power. The coastlines. The history. The resources. The identity. So let’s ask the real question: 👉 Is Liberia underrated… or underdeveloped? Don’t answer emotionally. Answer honestly. 👇
