HIP: A VersaTile Cooking Approach / BA Graduation Project
HIP is a kitchen shelving system consisting of seven shelf designs created to meet daily cooking and kitchen-related needs. The series helps to organise our cooking processes while creating a secondary working space on the tile area, keeping the countertop free for food prepping.
Inspired by early 20th-century functional design tendencies that optimised kitchen efficiency, HIP adapts to modern living needs. The shelves require no drilling or permanent fixing and are attached by hanging on the customised HIP hook. The hook relies on a stable suction cup mechanism and creates secure attachment. This allows for easy installation, cleaning, repositioning, or removal, enabling kitchen space adjustment according to one’s needs.
The shelves are made out of powder coated aluminium, assuring both lightweight construction and durable design. The name of the series stems from the initials of ‘Held In Place’, emphasising the functional aspect of HIP as well as its playful design and character.

STEPS
Steps is a furniture designed for a reality in which our global resources, funds and living space keep decreasing. The idea was to design a piece that combines two different objects that has two different scenarios-a chair, as a commonly used object, and a stepladder, an object that we don’t use on a daily basis, and often requires a storage solution when not in use. The transition between both use cases is accomplished with no additional mechanism and just by flipping the object upside down: from a chair to a stepladder, or the other way around.

IN BLOOM is a flower vase whose purpose is to allow flexibility but also precision in the way we present and take care of our flowers. The unique function of the vase stems from the rotating mechanism of the vase’s lid.
One can rotate the top opening of the lid to expose holes of different sizes and by this adjust the opening of the vase to accommodate flowers of different sizes or quantities. This simple mechanism makes it into a vase that can store just one single flower picked on the way back home, same as bunch of flowers or an entire bouquet.

POLY is a conceptual project in which I dealt with the way we communicate with objects around us. The project started as a research practice in which I created all kinds of random objects that had no specific use. Later I let different people use these objects and see what uses they could find for them. From the conclusions and dialogue made with the user group, I developed a project that focuses on three different contexts of children toys, self-defense tools and sex toys. POLY, the final product of the project, takes inspiration from all these categories while not indicating about a single use or purpose. In other words: you can use it how you like it, or not use it at all.

Prochain is a chic self-defense accessory, designed to give a sense of self-confidence to its users.
The tool is designed in a form of a heart pendant, which consists of two separate parts-an upper part, which is used to carry and stabilize the tool, and a lower part, which is the self-defense tool itself. Both parts are connected by a click closure which allows the upper part to be separated from the lower part within seconds✨
