One of the HUGE challenges of this show is the number of scenes and characters that appear at lightening quick speed. Two Clowns in the show keep the action moving and play a huge number of characters - so that meant a lot of costume. Massive shout out to
@d_b_i_r_d and Phil Yarrow who played this roles so spectacularly and also the biggest thank you in the world to the amazing Dresser - Cathie Powell-Jones who worked absolute magic backstage along with the stage management team.
A lot of the Clown costumes were put together with stock, hires and modern repro elements. I love styling costumes this way and building a look that fits the aesthetic of the show but has the flexibility to shift depending on what gems you find in a costume store.
