Racetrack Playa, Teakettle Junction, Ubehebe Crater. A couple of broken bike parts tried to slow us down but Lemonade and Sandwiches from some kind strangers kept us going. Johnboy’s Boneyard for the night before an early start towards our first resuply in 5 days. A morning of intervals pushing Evan who broke his pedal for 50km before coming across a cycle travel crew on the road that sorted him out with a new one. Over Daylight Pass, Nevada State line sprint, Ryolite then to the civilisation of Beatty and an evening at The World Famous Sourdough Saloon. Inyo Mine for lunch, got the KOM down Echo Canyon and a hard loiter at Fernace Creak. Night ride to Stovepipe Wells, over Wildrose and down to Panamint Valley for the final straight. 23 in 23 out. So far so good. 23 of us set out fully loaded up the Gatekeeper, couple of fireworks at the top. Night one spent by the fire with only 3 holes burnt into my bag. Through the snow, lunch @ Spliff Cliff with a gander on the monocular, Palm Trees in sight. Made it to the Oasis that is Saline Valley Warm Springs for a natural warm shower and swim, first Raman Bomb then got the lowdown from Tequila Pete on all things Death Valley. Long climb up Lippincott Road, we had the gas that the abandoned cars didn’t. Charcuterie board went dumb hard, sunset yoga then another cowboy camp under the stars #DethLoopV3
Now I know why they call it the land of a thousand hills 😵💫🇷🇼🤝

New bike is officially broken in 🤝 Race Around Rwanda completed in 87hr 24min with @jesseyates_ - Pushed hard and rested a lot. Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers @theracearoundrwanda for an amazing event.
Riding the new @canyon Grizl OG with built in power bank, lights and Dynamo wheel. Running Sram Red 13spd 40t up 10/46 on the back, @hutchinsoncycling Touareg 50mm tyres, two 750ml bottles for @styrkr.uk with @tailfincycling frame pack to carry all my stuff. What do you think?
Touchdown in Kigali! Not hanging around long though as tomorrow I’m setting of to explore the rest of the country as part of the @theracearoundrwanda 🇷🇼 I’ll be lining up for some fun in the pairs category with @jesseyates_ for the 1000km + 20k vertical route.

Arrived back from 10 days in Spain, good fun and some good miles in the legs building towards my first event of the year. Tomorrow off to Rwanda for the 1000km Ultra race @theracearoundrwanda and another pairs mission with @jesseyates_ 🫡
