Took myself on a very spontaneous trip to Rome, and wanted to share a roundup of my X3 favorite spots!! Thanks to friends and locals for the recommendations.
(1) Villa Laetitia — technically in Ponza, a small island between Rome and Naples. This bed and breakfast was the highlight of this holiday. I had never been welcomed with such open arms by a host before. Rita helped plan my entire weekend on the Tyrrhenian Sea, from dinner reservations to water taxis.
(2) Hendrik Christian Andersen Museum — neo-Renaissance house-gallery designed and built by Norwegian-American sculptor in the 1920s. Came for the sculptures, was left speechless over his project drawings.
(3) Villa Medici — home to the French Academy, is famed not only for its Renaissance architecture but also for its enchanting gardens. Hidden within them are a handful of secret rooms (pictured) and pathways. I could have spent the entire day exploring this property.
Now, who wants to pay me to plan and document their next vacation? Serious inquiries only…!!
