Lia Hide, a Greek artist, moves between avant pop, dark art pop, and poetic performance.
With a more introspective and atmospheric approach, her set created a distinctive, almost theatrical world on stage. Her voice and presence added an emotional and artistic tone to the beginning of the night.🎭

#womeninartsandmedia , no? Meanwhile, as I enter my fourth decade of life and wait for the system to eventually tell me I’m “ #toooldforthis ”while at the same time men are praised for longevity and experience, women’s numbers tend to drop and criticism rises as they age.
Here's a few numbers, #celebrating #womenpower #womenentrepreneurs #womeninspiringwomen #womeninmusic and #internationalwomensday
Women represent roughly 21–30% of artists in the charts, while men make up the remaining 70–80%. Across the industry, only about 1 in 4 musicians is a woman. Women songwriters account for around 18–19%, and in collective management organizations only 16–17% of members are women. In production the gap widens dramatically: only 2.6–6% of producers on popular recordings are women, and less than 5% of audio engineers. More than half of women musicians report having experienced gender discrimination, compared to only 6% of men. Festival stages reflect similar patterns: about 22% of artists in major festival line-ups are women, and in Europe 92% of headliners are men.
And as for me? yes : despite repeatedly stating that I produce my own music, orchestrate it, and play most of what you hear, I am still often refered to simply as a “singer”.
