Hi friends!
I am both excited, and also nervous to share this first post, but we are going to go for it, because all great things start somewhere, right?
For the first time in a long time, I decided to #leanin ☺️to something I’ve been passionate about for a very long time, you guessed it, photography. 📸
As someone who works in the diversity and inclusion space day-to-day, I find it important to champion the many ways in which someone identifies and celebrate the unique qualities that make you, well..you!
There is a simply truth that we all must do our best to remember, there is no one in this world that is exactly the same. No situation, dynamic, or experience is identical. Leaning into your authenticity is one of the greatest ways you can honor yourself. This simple truth is why I felt Lean In Photography was the best name for my work and why I started this journey. I want to help mirror the beauty of your story through my lens.
So let’s get to know each other 👋🏽
My name is Latisha, I’m a beginner photographer here in Charlotte, NC and I’m on a mission to change the world through my work and creative expression. I’m a proud black woman 🤎who comes from a line of strong, relentless, compassionate, artistic women whom I couldn’t be more proud of. I am queer and came out when I was 21 (Happy belated National Coming Out Day!) I’m a New Yorker, I love food (especially pizza and French fries), I’m a dog mom to my Shiba, Mila, and I’m someone who will always stop to smell the flowers, especially if they are sunflowers.☺️🌻
I’m sharing this with you in my first post because I believe the who, what, and especially the “why” is so important and my “why” is you! Let me be someone who reminds you, you’re beautifully made and wonderfully created, my friends.
To kick-off my photography journey, I’m going to capture my #50firstshoots, where I host sessions with individuals all across Charlotte, capturing stories that deserve to be told because everyone’s journey and identity should be celebrated. I invite you to join me, follow along
@leaninphotography , and honor the courage it takes for someone to stand in their truth💛
