“The Lighting Passage” - spectres of invisibility and illumination
Join artist Laura Trevail for a gentle spooky-season writing workshop exploring our experiences of navigating change and the unexpected in our own lives, through the creation of ghost stories together.
“A good ghost story is a way to explore the uncomfortable from a place of not only safety, but enjoyment and togetherness in the sharing of it. And to reach for our hopes to make real instead. Something very freeing happens when you invite people to make up ghosts. So that’s what we will do.”
Previous writing experience is not necessary, and explorations of anything “writing” is for you are warmly welcome. The workshop will be delivered in English, but you are invited to write in any language or combination. However you write, this is an opportunity to go deep into what is meaningful for you, to go trashy, to go funny, to go terrifying, to go kind - this is about nurturing *your* work without compromise or external expectation.
Come as you are - this workshop uncomplicatedly holds space for whatever you need to do to manage disability and chronic illness while facilitating your creativity. Lying down, moving about, camera on and off, getting food or going to the toilet a billion times, honestly whatever. No masking or whatnot required. This is for us.
There will be an opportunity for group sharing in November, for those who would like to share what they write - sharing is optional, you can write only for yourself if you prefer.
