BLOOM // DECAY OUT NOW!❤️‍🔥 A song about finding the beauty in decay and the promise of rebirth as the seasons pass through their endless cycles. The lyrics are about coping with seasonal depression, which I’m learning to see as a humble embrace in becoming free of perfection’s allure, the forever yearning for what isn’t in front of us, craving cooler days in summer and the warm summer sun in the dead of winter - that which the beauty of nature’s cycles bring us every year as the tides perform their everlasting dance. We filmed at the abandoned Pleasure Beach theater where I run every season. There couldn’t be a more fitting metaphor for BLOOM // DECAY, the history of art and performance out at a historical scenic shoreline getaway, now in perfect ruin as nature slowly reclaims the stage and plants grow through every crumbling opening. It was an honor to be the first band to play there since 1973. This is the first song off our upcoming full length under our new name LGTHVS. It’s been a vision of mine for so long and now a lesson in letting go of perfection’s allure and releasing all the art that I want to create without holding back. I decided on the last weekend of August for the release to find joy and share what means most to me as this season’s change approaches. Endless love to @adam_cichocki for all his talents in making this vision come true through all the magic we made together at Timber Studios in Bayonne, NJ. And endless love to @rick_vaca of @entwood_studios for taking an idea and making a masterpiece out of capturing the song, theater, and nature of my home through his incredible lens. Spent this whole month getting hundreds of seafarers the ultimate loot hauls for their holidays and end of year at sea🌊🖤Throughout the year I help them get supplies and groceries especially when most a crew doesn’t have visas or can’t legally leave a ship to make sure they have their basic needs met❤️‍🔥Especially this time of year when they’re super far from home and on 6-8 month contracts it means a lot having some people on the other side of the world bringing a semblance of home aboard the ship❤️‍🔥On the last Lighthouse tour I had some info about helping out seafarers and asylum seekers and will always be keepin a donation bin for any knit hats/extra clothes/scarves donations at all shows! My boys from the Phillipines sometimes see their first snow at the New Haven and New London ports and love all the hand-knit donations. Had a great talk with a chief officer Alex from Ukraine and donated some kids sized clothes and gifts he’s bringing back to his kids in Одеса - any donations any time of year means a lot to them!
