A year ago today, I landed the best job of my life when Miss Ezra Beatrix picked me to be her mommy. She is such a beacon of joy, and I’m already overwhelmed with pride at the person she’s becoming. Every stage just gets more fun, and I couldn’t have dreamed up a better pal to adventure through life with. Today is all about her and we’re having a fun day, but last night, I took a moment to celebrate my year anniversary of becoming a mother. I made it an evening of self care and pampering, basked in the full moon and caught some of its eclipse, grounded myself, and just soaked in gratitude. Remembering how powerful it felt to bring a new life into this world, and that the same power still sits in me. Looking back on how far we’ve come, and how hard I had to fight to claw my way back from the rock bottom of 2020. I feel really proud of this beautiful life I’m choosing to build with my daughter, a life of hope and joy and love. I’m so excited for what’s to come and so grateful for the journey thus far. 💕

Camp Street Virtual Reunion • We recorded this song about a year ago, and it felt really therapeutic at the time. Connecting with friends and doing something creative, but also the lyrics are so hopeful but melancholy that it really resonated with me. Especially any time I dared to hope that things could get to where they are at right now. I sang this song to Ezra all throughout my pregnancy and she lights up every time she hears it. I think I’m just now able to let my down my guard enough to acknowledge what a scary year it’s been, and how long it’s been since I felt anything resembling safe.
