Introducing 2026 CDC Fest Choreographer, Alexis Bomer @lexbomer
Born in Pittsburgh PA
Traveling to CDC Fest from Wilmington NC
Title of work: Passing
Brief description of work:
āThe more things change, the more they stay the same.ā
Passing is about time, how quickly it seems to go when you look back, always pushing you into
the unknown future. We get stuck in repeating cycles or routines, but so much can change.
Alexis pulls from real life experiences as inspiration for these different thoughts and feelings
about time. Sheās still doing the same things sheās always done, but some people arenāt here
anymore, and her perspective on a lot has changed, all while growing older and time passes.

āSmileā - inspired by ājust smile and nodā - sometimes itās easier to just smile through it, but sometimes you canāt.
We talked through a lot of different lessons this year beyond hitting shapes, technique, and texture. We discussed being vulnerable, genuine, and true to yourself. Iāve had a front row seat to watch Naomi grow into a confident artist and I know sheāll keep growing through her hard work. Iām so proud of you @naomi_dances_7

One of my favorite experiences as a teacher has been creating, practicing, and watching this routine. I'm so proud of @noahaydendances and @skarlytforney , and honored to do this special dance for you both. I miss it already!
