Levi Verspeek

After six years it’s finally time for the second EP on mlrec: Makcim & Levi’s “0906 EP”, featuring four club benders with the duo’s everlasting, signature sound. Makcim & Levi are known for their playful and intricate productions, scattered over labels like Slapfunk, VBX, Oscillat, Apollonia and many more. In 2019 they dropped their debut album “dœiотсюда” on their newborn mlrec imprint. After some time off, the duo’s back with the dazzeling earworms they’ve always been known for. On the A-side we find the title track ‘0906’, a dark tech-houser with a mysterious vocal and bumpy sound fx. “Null.Null’ goes even deeper, hinting at a more subdued side of techno. Again, where are these voices coming from? Further on the B-side, the tone gets more lifted. “Daveweit” bring percussion, wavey stabs and whispering together in a frisky and fun establishment. To round things off, “Hwexit” brings the tempo down to an almost nostalgic side of deephouse, balancing out the “0906 EP” perfectly.
