RETROSPECT! The final jewel in the Kawerau triple crown
The single largest hole I’ve ever rolled the dice with was intimidating to say the least. But with good safety and a great crew in case things went wrong gave me the confidence to tick this bucket list rapid off the list. Thanks so much to the boys @harry_hasselman@benjyrowlands@rich_stalker97 and @finn.hunter92 for being there for me. Definitely should’ve opened the boof line instead of committing to the tuck, but hey, whatever gets you through is good enough right? 😂

Probably the most intimidating rapid I’ve ever paddled.. If you got stuck in the main hole (where you can see Benjy stuck and upside down) it would be a brutal swim down the rest of the rapid if you couldn’t fight out out of there. Thankful for a clean line and stoked that @harry_hasselman and @benjyrowlands dropped in with me! Cheers to @finn.hunter92 and @rich_stalker97 for being there as some sort of safety too! Yew!
A once in a lifetime lap down the Futaleufù with @benvan.n a couple years ago. Can’t wait until our next duo lap somewhere else in the world! At least we didn’t swim when surfed Casa de Piedra 😂
The rumours are true! Falls Creek in Milford Sound has to be one of the best grade III/IV runs ever. I could paddle this every damn day and be stoked on life.
