I stopped presenting events 5 years ago.
Every day I had a feeling it was what I was meant to be doing.
I was afraid of being seen on social media, I wanted to engage with people in real life, and I wanted to show what my unique perspective can offer. So what did I do about it?
Nothing. For a long time - nothing.
Until recently I finally overcame the crippling feeling of indecision and took my career into my own hands. I’d been surrounding myself around people who didn’t “get” me. Didn’t get what I could offer was different than the traditional makeup route. So I went out on my own, and what happened next was unbelievable.
I sold out my first masterclass after 5 years of fear.
I got some incredible brands so sponsor the class.
I did it all myself, and I found my people in the process.
Moral of the story is - don’t stay stuck where you’re not appreciated. If you stay, you’ll eventually shrink to fit the view of others, while this overwhelming feeling that you’re made for more either goes to the wayside, or you take action.
Whatever your goal is, take the risk, back yourself, you never know where it may take you.

Delighted to attend a makeup masterclass with the inspiring @hannahmartinmakeup showcasing the reinvented Luminous Silk complexion range.
My background is similar to Hannah’s, beginning on counter, becoming lead artists for beauty brands to then working with red carpet and global clientele, and we’ve even crossed paths on a couple of shoots! Part of my love for beauty is sharing it, so being invited to a masterclass where pros can share top tips, tricks and product knowledge is a dream. 🫶
