King on his hill • I’ve spent a lot of time with the Black Grouses this spring. After photographing them several times with my tele lens, I decided to try out something new. In the afternoon I made my way once again to the lekking area of these impressive birds. After a hour of hiking, I had already reached my destination. This time, next to my telephoto- a wide angle lens was stowed in my backpack. That evening I was the only person in this area. From far away I could hear the cows of an alp, otherwise it was the indescribable silence of the mountains. After a warm dinner on the gas stove and a cold night in the sleeping bag, the alarm clock rang at four in the morning. I crept to my tripod, which I had already mounted the day before, and brought the camera into position. Then I hid under a camouflage net and waited and waited... It was freezing cold and I made sure that the connection from my camera to the iPhone would not break. (yes I didn't have a remote release and had to do it with my phone!) After around 30min I was suddenly surrounded by shadows and the beautiful sound of lekking Black Grouses broke the silence. When I saw a male right in front of my camera, I realized that my plan might actually work. It got lighter and lighter. I had already taken the first pictures. Then the sun rose, exactly where I had hoped it would be. Again a Black Grouse came; now everything was perfect. I hit the release button and hopped I would get the shot... ...I would say I got it😄 Of course it needed a lot of luck, time and endurance. I’ve spent much time with them, so behind this shot is a lot more of work than just this story I told you. I’ve to say a damn big thanks to @merlin_nature & @ruclip25 which showed me this lekking place, after I found already a few where a shot like this wasn’t possible. • I’m incredible happy to announce that this picture is honoured at the @vogelwarte.ch contest as the overall winner! When I was ten years old, @orglandobloom gave me a book with the winner pictures from exactly this contest. I’ve looked at the book hundreds of times. It was always a motivation for me.That I’m now part of this book makes me quite happy & proud.

Tawny Owls chicks 🦉 They leave the nest before they can even fly. Using their sharp talons and beak, they clamber through branches — a behaviour known as “branching.” Their parents continue to feed and protect them for weeks. In the first days after leaving the nest, they’re especially vulnerable, like many young birds at this stage. That’s why it’s so important to keep your dog on a leash and, when observing them, keep a respectful distance. Taken with the @sony.schweiz FX3 and 400mm f/2.8. #tawnyowl #sonyschweiz #sonyalphaeu #waldkauz #swissnature

I’m excited to announce that I’m now an official Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador. Over the past two years where I was a Sony Europe Creator, something happened that I didn’t quite expect — it wasn’t just the cameras that won me over, but the people behind them. The team at Sony Switzerland, the photographers and filmmakers across the world — a community that has quietly become something like a second family to me. I often say that gear is just a means to an end. But I’m truly grateful that over the years — out in the mountains, in the early hours before dawn, in the cold and the snow — I could always focus entirely on the creative moment, because the technical side simply never let me down. Here’s to the next chapter — and I can’t wait to see what it brings! 🤍 @sonyalpha @sony.switzerland @sonyalphaeu Thanks @pixelphil_ @phil.sony.pro for the support and for making this possible! 🙏🏼 #SonyAmbassador #sonyalpha #sonyschweiz #wildlifephotography #naturephotography

Ermine, February 2026 The ermine may look cute in its white winter coat, but it is one of the most fearless predators. Even though it weighs only a few hundred grams, it can hunt prey larger than itself and moves through the snow with incredible speed and agility. In winter, its fur turns completely white – perfect camouflage in the snowy landscape. Only the black tip of the tail remains, like a small signature in the snow. Here is a small collection from a beautiful encounter in the snow with @antoine_lavorel . #ermine #swissnature #sonyschweiz #wildlifephotography #sonyalphauniverse

#hermelin #sonyschweiz #sonyalphauniverse #sonya1ii #sony400mmf28

The new Sony A7 V is here 🦉 Over the last days I had the chance to test the camera in the Swiss Alps and capture some first moments with it. It turned out to be an impressive upgrade to the previous model - with features like precapture, 30fps and 4K 120fps, making the A7 series an incredible choice for wildlife photography and filmmaking. Got any questions about the camera? Feel free to drop them in the comments - or check out my full review on YouTube (link in bio). *add #sonyschweiz #sonyalphauniverse #sonycreator #sonyeurope #sonyalpha #wildlifephotography #wildlifefilmmaking #nature #alps #swissnature
